Our recruitment process is designed to be fair, thorough, and genuinely reflective of what it’s like to work at amazee.io.
We’re open about the role, the awesomeness, and the challenges, and what it will really be like working in your role. We want you to have a clear picture of what you're stepping into, so you can picture yourself in the role, and help us do the same, throughout the process.
Our goal is to create an environment where you feel empowered to show your best. We don’t design our interviews to be scary or intimidating, and we don’t have trick questions or ask you how many golf balls can fit into a school bus.
Below you’ll find you’ll find details on our recruitment process, and some useful additional information.

Below you’ll find some commonly asked questions, and who to contact if you need anything.
Naturally, each position has its own requirements, however there are some key values that we share as an organisation. No matter the position, with each candidate we look at the following:
The link to the video interview will be in the calendar invite that you’re sent. It’s best to check the connection before your interview starts to save any stress. Prior to the interview, check your sound, microphone, and video. If you prefer, Zoom also has virtual or blurred background options to use for privacy / comfort.
On the day, try and find a quiet spot free of noise and distractions if you can. Get comfortable, and place your laptop/iPad/notebook etc with the camera at eye level when seated, ideally.
After that, get a coffee/tea/water/organic amazon rain water (you’ll be doing much of the talking), and relax!
Feel free to wear whatever you feel comfortable in, and don’t feel like you have to dress up too formal with shirts, jacket, ties, or top hats. We have a very casual dress code in our day-to-day work.
We take a structured but flowing approach to our interviews. We will start off with brief introductions and then head into some pre-planned open questions which we will cover with every candidate for a specific role, to help remove bias from our process.
We don’t stick to a script however, and you can expect side quest questions, and to delve deeper into certain topics as the conversation develops naturally.
We tend to stick to “open questions”, which allow for often more informative answers or answers that trigger further questions, and allow for us to better understand your mindset and communication style.
The questions will be looking to assess topics such as technical fit, behavioral approach to work, and your soft skills.
We always find it more productive to have a two way conversation and it won’t be super formal, so feel free to ask questions throughout, as and when they come to mind, but there will also be space at the end if you prefer to save them.
While our approach isn’t rigidly structured, we do use structured interview questions throughout the recruitment process.
Structured interviews involve, in part, pre-planned questions which are asked consistently to each candidate per role, and that are related to core parts of any particular the role.
It basically means that we plan 4 - 5 key questions upfront to cover during each interview, but beyond that we allow the conversation to take it’s natural course.
By setting our interviews up this way, we can assess each candidate based on consistent criteria key to the particular role, helping remove unintentional bias from our recruitment process, whilst still allowing the space for each candidate to demonstrate their soft skills, curiosity, and to go “off script”.
If you have any accessibility requirements, then please just let our HR Lead know in advance, and we will be happy to make accommodations, for example:
In addition to the above, if you would benefit with the presence of a personal assistance, service, or emotional support animal, or any support or comfort aids, then always feel free to bring them along without question.
This will depend on the role, however during the interview process you’ll meet a wide range of people. This is by design, for us to create a inclusive interview process, and to give you a stronger idea of what its like to work at amazee.io.
You’ll definitely meet:
At any point during the process, feel free to reach out to the HR Manager - Matt Smith - whom you will already be in contact with from the start of your interview process with us!
