Annual leave is granted in full on the 1st of January each year. A prorated balance will be calculated for employees starting after 1 January and employees working on a lower workload.
Most unused leave is rolled over to the next year, and no more than 2 year’s worth of leave may be accumulated. The company can request that an employee makes use of their annual leave, in the case that leave in excess of 1 year’s worth is being accumulated.
We encourage all employees to take at least one holiday per year which lasts a minimum of 2 weeks (which in some countries is a legal requirement).
If an employee leaves the company during a calendar year, the leave entitlement will be reduced pro-rata. If they still have leave available, we will encourage the use of this time off, and pay out any unused leave only if it is not possible to use it. This is within reason of pending handovers and certain exceptions.
If an employee leaves the company and has used more leave than the pro rata value at that point in the year, this may be deducted from their last pay check, with exceptions.

Leave requests should be submitted in advance: length of leave x 1.5
E.g. If you wish to take 2 days leave, you should request this 3 days in advance.

Leave is deducted from the balance of the period in which you use the time, not from the period when you booked it off. So if you book off leave in December for January, that time will come out of the following year’s balance, not the current year. This is particularly relevant to those with limited roll over. You need to use the leave within the year.

All relevant public holidays are loaded into BambooHR and Jira towards the end of each year by the BizOps team, according to various reliable sources. We take into account the annual changes in public holidays, including:
